Candidate Statement

Jessica is running for Pajaro Valley Board Trustee, District 6 to make our schools accessible and equitable for our youth, our students, parents, and families. Jessica is all about action when it comes to advocacy.

About Jessica

Jessica is a mother, a long-time educator, and community advocate. Jessica Carrasco was proudly raised in Watsonville, California. She is an educator in the Pajaro Valley, who has previously taught World History, U.S History, Ethnic Studies and Social Justice at Watsonville High School and Lakeside Middle. She has also supported students with autism in the Chrysalis Center as an instructional aid.

Jessica is a working artist and Founder of Carrasco Concepts, an art brand that focuses on creating art that highlights her community in a positive way . Carrasco uses part of her sticker funds to fundraise money for the Born and Raised in Watsonville Scholarship, a scholarship she created in 2018.

Currently she works for Arte del Corazon, a non-profit organization that advocates for the arts and for artists of color through art exposure and hands-on training.

She is currently on the board of the Pajaro Valley Arts Gallery, serves on the Board for the Museum of Art and History in downtown Santa Cruz and has formally served as a Parks and Recreation Commissioner for the City of Watsonville.

In her free time, Jessica loves to spend time with her daughter, her family, reading, creating, and playing soccer.
